Privacy

Last updated September 2026

Lumora is a quiet morning ritual, and we keep our handling of your data just as quiet. We collect as little as possible and never sell it. Here is exactly what happens.

Your email

If you subscribe, we store the email address you give us so we can send the daily edition. That is the only personal detail we keep, and we use it for nothing else. Every email includes a one-tap unsubscribe link, and you can leave at any time. Once you unsubscribe, your address is removed from the sending list.

Anonymous analytics

We use Vercel Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how many people visit and which parts of the ritual they use. It is privacy-friendly and does not use cookies to follow you around the web or build an advertising profile. We cannot identify you from it.

Images, music and audio

  • Story photographs are hotlinked directly from Unsplash. When an image loads, your browser talks to Unsplash to fetch it, which is standard for any web image.
  • The optional “sunrise song” is an embedded Spotify player. It only loads if you choose to reveal it, and Spotify’s own privacy terms apply once it does.
  • The optional spoken narration streams pre-generated speech audio from our own server. No microphone or recording of you is ever involved.

On-device storage

A few small preferences live only in your browser’s localStorage, on your device, and are never sent to us:

  • whether you have dismissed the “Add to Home Screen” prompt, so it does not nag;
  • your visit streak (last visit date and day count), so we can gently welcome you back.

Clearing your browser data removes these at any time.

No accounts, no tracking cookies

Lumora has no login, no user accounts, and no advertising trackers. We do not share your information with third parties beyond the infrastructure providers named above (Vercel, Unsplash, Spotify) that are needed to deliver the experience.
